At 7.30 PM last night the doorbell rang & it was the parcel of Clematis, beautifully wrapped, and once opened, in perfect condition. As always your plants looked lovely and none the worse for their journey. I must say, you could teach all of the other mail order nurseries a thing or two about how to wrap up plants properly to be sent in the post! There was nothing out of place and just a minute amount of soil had spilled out of the pots.I have definitely found Thorncroft's mail order service and quality of plants to be head and shoulders above any other mail order Nursery I've used (and believe me I've used a lot over the years!!).

The parcel was safely received in perfect order yesterday. Thank you for such good packing and more importantly for two good size healthy (and green) plants. If I had realised how excellent they would be, I would have ordered more!

My order arrived this morning and I would like to congratulate you on both the quality of the plants and the excellence of your packaging. The clematis appear to be in perfect condition, and if they fail in my garden then it will be my fault, not yours (unless there is a time bomb lurking in the pot).
Thank you so much for getting these plants off pretty promptly; I imagine you will have been having a hectic time leading up the Chelsea, and then during the show, and finally coping with (I hope!) a mass of orders.

I am an avid collector of Clematis and now have over 240 growing happily in my garden. I have purchased many of them from Thorncroft Clematis Nursery and shall continue to do so because they provide quality plants at a fair price, have a wonderful range and, in my experience, will go to great lengths to obtain that “special plant” for you. Coupled with this is an attention to detail and unsurpassed knowledge.
I congratulate Ruth, Jonathan and Peter Gooch on their professional but caring approach and also upon their Gold Medal for their clematis display at Chelsea Flower Show 2007.

The layout of your catalogues is easy to follow and gives all the info anyone could need when choosing what to try next, whereas, some catalogues do nothing of the sort.
As far as I am concerned, you are still by far the best Mail Order Nursery for clematis and this is borne out by people in my audiences who have ordered from you. Of the Clematis Nurseries I visited last year, ( nearly all the well known ones ) no one beats you on hygine and cleanliness and very few come anywhere near to you.
So, you have a lot to live up to !!

The plant was a wedding present and it has arrived safely and was obviously an extremely successful choice as the recipients are very excitied about receiving it. They have commented on the very clear instructions that were with it.
I bought four plants from you for myself several years ago, and I am pleased with the way they have grown, particularly the cirrhosa balearica which flowered as never before early this year. I shall certainly recommend you to my friends and, should I want to buy more plants, you will be my first choice.

I've just ordered a couple more clematis from you but I just wanted to let you know as well how delighted I have been with the performance of the plants I obtained from your nursery a couple of years ago. In particular the clematis Romantika, which you supplied as a substitute when the one I had ordered was out of stock, is flowering profusely right now and is absolutely stunning - especially when the sun shines through the its topmost flowers each morning. And it is so vigorous that it keeps climbing above the fence into the silver birch in our neighbour's garden!
What a plant! Thank you so much for introducing me to this wonderful cultivar.

Dear Sirs,
We have recently received our second deliver of plants from your nursery. I have to say that we are very impressed with the packaging and the condition of the plants. The packaging was also praised by the postman who delivered the plants today. He gave us a small talk on how badly some of the plants are packed that come from [other suppliers]. I would also like to say ' thank you' for the help we received when trying to decide which clematis to purchase, the staff were very patient. I am looking forward to receiving the next lot August/September, and we will have to purchase a few large trees to grow some of them up. Once again thank you for all your help and care taken over our plants.
